Andy B, aka Andy Bernstein, emerged from the New Brunswick music scene, a contemporary of Pat Dinizio, Matt Pinfield and Tony Shanahan. He is a veteran of that city's Roots rockers The VooDUDES serving as their primary singer/songwriter through international touring, six albums and several compilations.

To utilize compositions not performed by The VooDUDES, Andy teamed up with executive producer John "JP" Pittas (Blues Leaf producer/Dead on Live keyboardist) to record a collection of these tunes. The project became Andy's first solo effort MY ROOTS ARE SHOWING. The album received strong airplay and media support from both the Blues and Indie music communities leading to an invitation to perform at the Texas Indie Fest, 2019 Austin Music Week/SXSW.

Smashing through a half dozen of his tunes backed by a pick-up band, Andy caught the attention of Indie On Air Records. Label reps liked the roadhouse vibe of the performance asking for an album of the same. The result? Indie On Air Record's LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN featuring SoulFolk, the name Andy gave the players. Then like a sledgehammer the covid pandemic came down. Gigs were cancelled, media disrupted, and finally the collapse of the record label. LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN was in limbo.

The downtime was spent tightening up the personnel and sound of SoulFolk. The line-up is: Gary Ambrosy (guitars); Paul Daloia (basses); Matty Hahn (keys); and Bill Homeyer (drums/perc). Everybody sings. The widely experienced players brought new insights to Andy's songs. The result is TELLIN' MYSELF WEIRD LI'L STORIES, and production was completed in 2024. Along with eight originals, the album includes a Motown cover and the traditional "House of the Rising Sun." featuring Juke Joint Johnny on guitar and is an original arrangement that Andy did with him in their touring days.
